Have a Vision for your life

Pro.29:18

When people do not accept divine guidance, they run wild….” (NLT)

“Where there is no vision, the people perish………”(KJV)

“Where there is no revelation, the people cast off restraint…..”(NIV)

It is very important for a person to have a vision about his life. Many times we see that people are confused. They want to take some decision but they are not sure about it. Many try to do many things and end up fustrated because they do not find joy in doing it.

But if a person has a Vision or divine guidance about his life then things can be different. God has a plan for every person. Paul says in Ephesians 1:4

“For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight”

So even before you were born God has seen you for a purpose in this world. Thats what he told Jeremiah 1:5 ”Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.”

But many times we don’t pray or seek God’s divince guidance for our life. But if we sit in the presence of God then He will surely revel his plan for our life and give us a vision. Then it will be very easy to take decisions in our life as we know what is God’s will for our life.

A classic example is that of Joshua & Caleb. You can read about it in Numbers 13 & 14. They were sure about what God wanted through life- Land of Cannan. But other 10 people who went out to spy were not sure and hence we see that they lost the promise of God. We see a generation wandering in wilderness for 40 years. Out of all the people who were above 20yrs only 2-Joshua & Caleb entered Cannan the promised land. Joshua led the conquest and Caleb in the end got Horeb as God promised him.

Let me give is three benefits of having a vision in your life:-

  1. Vision will bring Faith
  2. Vision will inspire Courage
  3. Vision will result in Action

Can God Die?

An interesting question asked by some people is can God die. This question is asked in respect to death of Jesus on cross. There are few group of people who go out and confuse people. I agree that its a vital question. So I want to add something which Mr.Sudhakar Mondithoka said in response to this question. I have his blog link added. This is his response:-

“It is an important one that we have faced many times in the past. My answer will begin with a question: What do you mean by God and what is this God like? If we know the answers to these questions, then the answer to your question is obvious. Let me explain. God is, by definition, non-physical/spiritual, infinite and eternal - beginningless and endless. So talking about the end of the endless one does not make sense. So God, in His divinity, can never die and the question of God’s death does not even arise (it is a non-question, a question that does not make sense).
But when we talk about Jesus, we need to understand the identity of Jesus properly: He is God-incarnate, that is, God who added to Himself humanity without ceasing to be God and entered human history, in flesh and blood. So Jesus is both Divine (God) and human (Man) and it is in His humanity that he died and there is absolutely no problem here.
For example, think of yourself. If I ask you, “What is your weight?” you will say, “Seventy Kilos or whatever it is.” But if I ask you, “What is the weight of your soul?” what will you think of me? Each of us is a composite of body-soul and certain things about us relate to the soul (the non-physical part) and certain others relate to the body (the physical part). Weight, color, height, etc., relate to the body and not the soul. In the same way, when we talk about Jesus, we have to understand that certain things relate to his Divinity (no possibility of dying, no hunger, no thirst, etc.,) and certain other things relate to his Humanity (his dying on the cross, his hunger, thirst, tiredness, sleeping, etc). There is absolutely no problem at all.”

He also suggests reading few articles which will give you a better understanding about this.

Cricket World Cup 2007

Cricket world cup 2007 ended on a bad note with all problems in the final. Once again Australia proved they are world campions. Many people were not happy with many things. India and Pakistan going out early was a shock to millions of people. Many people in Asia where expecting Sri Lanka to win. But untimately Australia proved that they are far above all other teams. This Australian team looks unbeatable. Anyway I am sure on any given day they can lose to any team as it happened with India and Pakistan.

Now all the teams will be hoping for the next world cup in 2011. But again it will depend upon how well the teams start preparing from now. Bangladesh performed this time. Bob Woolmer death was also a sad part of this world cup.

Few lessons from this worldcup:-

  1. Never Underestimate anyone. (Bangladesh & Netherlands)
  2. Never Overestimate anyone. (India & Pakistan)
  3. Champions will remain champions if they play upto their potential. (Australia)
  4. If you have a team which is not based on few big names but all people playing their part then you can go far ahead. (Sri Lanka)
  5. No one knows when they will face death and leave this world. (Bob Woolmer)

That bring me to conclusion-

Bible Says in Hebrews 9:27 -” And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment“.

Let’s think about our life. Are we ready to face the judgement of God if we are to face the reality of Death today?

Pastor Attacked in Jaipur,Rajasthan,India

Another report of attack on pastor in India

http://www.worthynews.com/christian/india-hindu-militants-attack-independent-pastor-in-front-of-daughter/

What a shameful thing to attack a person infront of his daughter and misbehaving with his wife and that also in the name of religion. This world was created by God and its a very sad thing when we hear such reports. My prayer is that God will give wisdom to people so that they can understand that by violence no one is going to achieve anything. If a person don’t want to hear a message or teaching of other religion then just leave it and go ahead. Why do we hurt and fight with each other. Everyone has the right to speak whatever he/she wants. If you don’t agree with it then just don’t hear. But killing and persecuting in the name of religion is something which I feel is not good.

India is secular country where each indiviual has the right to practice which ever religion he wants. There is no point in trying to stop or forcing anyone into anything.

Message of Bible never teaches anyone to force anyone to follow Christ. Its an individuals decision whether he wants to follow or not.

In Rev 3:20 Jesus says

“Look! I stand at the door and knock. If you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in, and we will share a meal together as friends. ”

Jesus gives an invitation and says if anyone hears and opens door then He will come in. Jesus never opens any heart’s door by force. So following Jesus is a decision which an individual has to take by himself.

So if there is any forceful conversion then its wrong on biblical basis. But if a person wants to follow Jesus by his own then no one should stop. I don’t understand what people will gain by persecuting. At last they are also human beings.

True Revival

Few weeks ago I was in Hinton,OK for ICPF Awake camp. It was really good. It was a long drive of 13-14 hrs one side. God kept us safe. Rev. Jacob Mathew & Glen Badonsky were the main speakers and it was a great time of refreshing.
The main points to throw light from the camp:-
This is a generation which needs to be rooted in the word of God.
Rev.Jacob Mathew asked a question during Saturday evening meeting- What answer will you give to any person who asks you about the God whom you serve? Very challenging question when we see the times in which we are living.

Also we had a guest preacher in our church few days ago - Dwight Knight. He gave an awesome message. One point he made in the end I want to say here-
True revival is not when many people starts coming to church but when people from the church starts going out into the world.

Revival - Pandita Ramabai

I want to write about some of the revivals which the church witnessed. I won’t be writing in detail but will be giving a brief note.

Let me start from India and Pandita Ramabai.

In schools, it is taught about the Indian social reformer, Pandita Ramabai. She was a poet, a scholar, and a champion of improvement in the plight of Indian women. As a social reformer, she championed the cause of emancipation of Indian women. Her father was Anant Shastri Dongre, a scholar of Sanskrit, and her mother was Lakshmibai. They were a Chitpawan Brahmin couple. Her father taught her Puranic Sanskrit and she made quite a name for herself as a scholar in Puranic circles, earning the name Pandita.

Although she was a Brahmin, she married, on 13th November 1880, Babu Bipin Behari Madhavi, a Bengali lawyer at Bankipore (Patna, Bihar), who was not a Brahmin, and this created a stir in the orthodox circles of Hindu society.

After her husband’s death she found herself unable to play the role traditionally reserved for upper-caste Hindu widows, and converted to Christianity, an action which created a scandal even in liberal Calcutta society.

It is noted by some historians that this prayer warrior initiated one of the earliest revivals that swept across India. She was a nominal Christian till 1891 when she was fully converted. She led an institution to help widows and orphans, among which many were victims of famine. By 1901 she had around 2,000 girls in her institution. She called it Mukti Mission near Pune, Bombay.

She spent long days in fasting and prayer. Between December-February 1901, 1,200 girls in her institution were baptized. God began a revival there. It was in 1904 that she heard that there was a revival in Wales, and her hunger to see the same in India deepened. Prayer circles were organized. It grew from 70 prayer circles to 550. She later challenged them to work for the Lord. At first 30 young women volunteered. They were empowered with great power. One of the thirty volunteers was so deeply consumed in the spiritual fire that the other girls threw water on her thinking that the fire was real! Ramabai’s teachings had so much power that women - both young and old - began to weep, confess their sins, and pray for more power from above. Two girls, it is said, were so gripped with hunger that they prayed and prayed still their face literally shone with a heavenly light. Many missionaries from other parts of India came in to spend time there. Many testified to receive the “baptism of fire” thus spreading it to many parts of India.

My prayer is that may God raise may people like her and may we all see a mighty revival.
